Over 10 lakh pilgrims arrived on Sunday, the opening day of the Yatra. One devotee lost his life and numerous others were hurt in a stampede that resulted from the crowd’s fear. For medical attention, the injured were brought to the district hospital in Puri. The relatives of the deceased would receive Rs 4 lakh as compensation, according to CM Mohan Charan Majhi.
