Congress MLAs have already dispatched five members to an unverified location ahead of Goa’s legislative session on Monday. The party’s five additional MLAs are already unreachable. One of Congress’s senior members provided this information. The unique aspect is that Congress President Sonia Gandhi despatched Mukul Wasnik to Goa despite the deteriorating political climate.

Amit Patkar, president of the party’s Goa unit, stated that the party would declare the new leader of the opposition before the session started. Five of the 11 Congress MLAs were still with the party as of Monday morning, while the other five could not be reached. MLA Alexo Sequeira has endorsed the party while he is at home.

A top party official acknowledged that the five MLAs had been relocated. He claimed that these MLAs were members of the party and that they had been sent to an unidentified location to prevent the party from further fracturing. In response to that, he stated, “Those MLAs will attend the assembly.”

It’s interesting to note that the opposition Congress in Goa announced on Sunday that five of its 11 MLAs in the state were unreachable and that the party had sided with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the controversy surrounding two of its MLAs, Michael Lobo and former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat. Together, they charged the group with planning a “conspiracy.” The news comes amid rumors that a few Congress legislators in the 40-member House may defect to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday presented the budget for the year 2022-23 by the Rajasthan BJP as disappointing. In a statement, the state BJP chief also attacked Chief Minister Gehlot for his budget presentation and said he was good at making announcements but had a difference between words and actions.
