Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal gets interim bail from Supreme Court, Kejriwal will still remain in jail, know why?

In the liquor scam case, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. However, the Supreme Court’s larger bench has been tasked with handling the case of his ED arrest.

The CBI case against Chief Minister Kejriwal will now be heard by a three-member bench. It was informed that Kejriwal would stay incarcerated until the larger bench’s hearing.

The Supreme Court‘s bench of Justices Sanjeev Khanna and Dipankar Dutta has forwarded the petition contesting Kejriwal’s arrest to the larger bench. Kejriwal will thus be unable to leave prison for the time being. Although he has been granted bail in the ED case, he is presently under the CBI‘s custody. He will stay behind bars for the time being in such a case.

Manish Sisodia did not get relief in Delhi liquor scam case, court will give verdict on April 30

Delhi liquor scam case: On Saturday, Rouse Avenue Court heard the bail request of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was arrested in Tihar Jail in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case. Sisodia was not granted any relief in this bail request. The ruling has been reserved by the court. The court will now provide a decision on April 30.

Manish Sisodia’s bail hearing in the excise matter is already over. CBI made arguments in favor of their position. Manish, the primary culprit, can tamper with the evidence, according to the CBI counsel. After hearing the CBI’s arguments, the ED, which had previously opposed Sisodia’s bail request, has deferred its decision. The CBI and ED were given notice by the court on April 12 and asked to submit their responses within a week.

Manish Sisodia had applied to the trial court for interim bail, stating that he wanted to take part in the Lok Sabha election campaign. According to Sisodia’s attorney, the interim bail petition is being withdrawn because the court has postponed making a judgment on regular bail. However, the CBI objected to Manish Sisodia’s routine bail request. According to the CBI, he shouldn’t be given bail. He was dubbed the liquor scam mastermind by the CBI.

Arvind Kejriwal will not appear before ED even today, said – why notice just before the elections?

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has received the third notice from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) about the liquor policy. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has decided not to appear before the ED, even after receiving a third notice.

Giving further information, the AAP said that plans are in motion to have Kejriwal arrested to prevent him from running for office. Kejriwal is prepared to assist with the inquiry.

AAP provided more details, stating that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not respond to the Enforcement Directorate’s summons. Additionally, the ED summons has been questioned by the party. The notice is completely illegal, he says, but Kejriwal is willing to cooperate with the ED investigation.

Notably, CM Kejriwal has already received notices from ED thrice before. But for the same reasons, he did not come before the ED the previous time as well.

The ED may be arrested under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) if an accused person fails to show up for questioning despite receiving three summonses in a row. But to do this, he must have good reason to be arrested.
