Election Commission’s big decision before voting, 8 DMs and 12 SPs of five states including Assam, Bihar changed

The Election Commission of India (ECI) transferred 8 District Magistrates (DMs) and 12 Superintendents of Police (SPs) to five states Assam, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Andhra Pradesh.

According to a press release from the Election Commission, this decision was made as part of a routine review at a meeting with Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.

It has been requested that all transferred officers promptly turn over control to their junior officers. The Commission further declared that till the Lok Sabha elections are over, the resigning officers will not be assigned any election-related duties. The Commission has been instructed to receive a list of names from the state governments of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officials. The officers who make up the “shortlist” will be appointed to replace the transferred officers.
