Despite the department’s assurance that there is no reason to panic, whole genome sequencing will be conducted as per the standard Covid protocol to identify any new variants.
In the Tamil Nadu districts of Chennai, Coimbatore, Chengalpattu, and Kanniyakumari, there has been a rise in instances of Covid. The state health department has discovered that the number of Covid-19 cases has also increased slightly in other districts.
