This UAE cricketer banned for 14 years, got this punishment for match-fixing

A cricket player who fixed a game received severe punishment. Due to match-fixing, this cricketer has been suspended for 14 years. A United Arab Emirates (UAE) domestic cricketer has been banned for 14 years from all cricket-related activities after being found guilty of seven match-fixing offenses in April 2019 and a T20 franchise event in Canada the same month.

This cricketer was given a huge punishment for match-fixing

After a hearing before the ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal, Mehardeep Chhayakar was declared ineligible, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced in a statement on Wednesday. Two members of the Emirates national squad had previously received suspensions.

Chhavkar is wicket-keeper batsman

In UAE cricket, Mehardeep Chhayakar played as a wicket-keeper batsman. He has consistently competed in the highest league in the UAE. During the 2012 Asian Club tournament, he also participated. Following the ICC’s sentencing, he refuted the accusations against him and said they were unfounded. He was found guilty on two counts, including purposefully degrading a player’s performance.

Roger Binny may become the new President of BCCI, Ganguly may present his claim as the President of ICC

Sourav Ganguly could be replaced as the head of the Board of Control for Cricket in India by former all-rounder Roger Binny (BCCI). Jai Shah might also decide to stay in the meanwhile. Rajiv Shukla can continue serving as vice president despite this.

Who is Roger Binny?

Roger Binny played for the Indian team that won the 1983 World Cup. presently employed by the Karnataka State Cricket Association as a board member (KSCA).

As per news reports citing sources, Ganguly may run for the next ICC President after becoming BCCI President in October 2019.

On October 18, Mumbai will host the BCCI elections, while nominations are accepted on October 11 and 12. Candidates may withdraw their candidacy up until October 14 before the nominations are scrutinized on October 13.

Binny was nominated on Thursday to represent the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and the BCCI’s electoral roster for the elections slated for October 18, according to earlier reports from the news agency ANI. The secretary, Santosh Menon, was present at the annual general meeting.

No name is confirmed, though, until the election results are announced.
