LinkedIn Boosts Vertical Video Content Visibility
LinkedIn is enhancing its platform for video content, recognizing the rising popularity of video sharing among professionals. These updates aim to make video posts more visible and improve discoverability.
A key change is bringing the immersive, full-screen vertical video format to the desktop. This mirrors the mobile experience, where users can scroll through a feed of videos, similar to Reels & Tiktok. This desktop enhancement reinforces LinkedIn’s commitment to video.
On mobile, LinkedIn is testing a larger video display in the main feed. Videos will appear in wider frames, drawing attention. Tapping a video opens the full-screen player. Creator profiles will also showcase video uploads prominently, encouraging content creation and maximizing exposure. A more prominent follow option is also being tested within the full-screen player.
LinkedIn is also improving video discoverability through search. Searching for a topic will now display related videos in a swipeable carousel within the search results. This makes it easier for users to find relevant video content.
Finally, new video analytics, including average watch time data, will help creators understand video performance and optimize their content strategy. These updates reflect LinkedIn’s focus on enhancing video content sharing and consumption on its platform.
