Vijay Barse, the sports coach in the film, is played by Bachchan. Vijay Barse founded the NGO “Slum Soccer” and is portrayed in this film. Director Nagraj Popatrao Manjule wrote the story, the screenplay, and the dialogue for Jhund. Additionally, he has also appeared in the film as an actor. The Marathi film Sairat, which was based on Honor Killing, was also directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule in 2016.
