According to an India TV news report, Gujarat’s Disaster Management Minister Rajendra Trivedi stated that the state administration has made plans to relocate residents of low-lying districts to safer locations amid the recent severe rains. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation made the decision to keep schools and institutions closed in the city on Monday in light of the prevailing circumstances. On Sunday, a portion of a bridge in Chhota Udaipur also fell as a result of the nonstop rain.
The Hindustan Times reported that while the rescue effort is ongoing due to the flooding, approximately 1500 people have already been relocated to safer areas. Navsari district in Gujarat has been hit with heavy rains, and rising river levels. In the Navsari area, the flow of the Cauvery and Ambika rivers is over the danger threshold.
