Jitendra Kumar Leads a Unique Film Exploring India’s Forgotten Pigeon-Flying Heritage

Jitendra Kumar is set to lead a unique, heartfelt film alongside the acclaimed Pooja Bhatt, who will play his on-screen mother. This untitled project dives into India’s old tradition of pigeon-flying or ‘kabootar-baazi’, a practice rich in heritage and community. The official release for Sunny Deol‘s upcoming psychological thriller film Chup: Revenge Of The Artist, in which Pooja Bhatt, Dulquer Salmaan, and Shreya Dhanwanthary play key roles, was announced on Thursday.

This one will be helmed by R Balki, who has previously directed Paa, Shamitabh, Ki & Ka, and Cheeni Kum. Guru Dutt, a prominent director who went away on October 10, 1964, at the age of 39, is the subject of R Balki’s “ode” in the film. The updated release date for Chup: Revenge of the Artist is September 23, 2022.

In a motion poster Sunny Deol tweeted earlier today for Chup: Revenge Of The Artist, Dulquer can be seen singing “Sar Jo Tera Chakraye” in the background. The movie is directed by R Balki, and its producers include Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Anil Naidu, Dr. Jayantilal Gada, and Gauri Shinde.

Rishi Virmani, Raja Sen, a former critic who is now a writer, and R Balki collaborated on the language and screenplay. The first story was written by R Balki. The Zoya Factor and Blank are Sunny Deol and Dulquer’s follow-up flicks from 2019; this film marks their return to Hindi cinema.
