Newsclick Case: The Head of Newsclick‘s HR department Amit Chakraborty has petitioned a Delhi court to be allowed to testify as a government witness in a case brought under the UAPA, the anti-terrorism law.

Chakraborty reportedly filed a plea for a pardon last week before Special Judge Hardeep Kaur, claiming to have critical information he wished to share with the Delhi Police, who are now investigating the issue, according to news agency PTI.

It is alleged that the portal receives funds from China and manipulates news to suit its interests.
