The Home Ministry has been contacted by the Ministry of Information Technology (IT) to inquire about any potential violations that Telegram may have committed in India. CEO of Telegram Durov was being held at the airport in Paris to execute an arrest warrant. His platform is allegedly being used for illegal activities like drug trafficking and money laundering.

Court extends judicial custody of Bibhav Kumar till September 13 in Swati Maliwal Assault case

Supreme Court formed a National Task Force on Kolkata rape-murder, next hearing will now be on August 22

Kolkata Doctor Rape Murder Case: The Supreme Court heard the case of a female trainee doctor who was raped in Kolkata today. This subject has been brought before the court suo motu. Regarding this issue, the court questioned the state government, the police, and the hospital administration severely.

In addition, the court has mandated the establishment of an eight-person National Task Force during the hearing. The task committee will include the head of AIIMS. In three weeks, the task force will turn in an interim report.

Lokayukta took a big action in Karnataka in cases of disproportionate assets, raids in 56 places in 9 districts

Karnataka Raids: Several government officials in Karnataka were raided this morning by the anti-corruption agency Lokayukta. According to an official, the Lokayukta has carried out raids in response to complaints and accusations involving disproportionate assets.

Raids were carried out in nine districts overall about eleven cases. Raids in Kalaburagi, Madhya, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Dharwad, Belgaum, Kolar, Mysore, Hassan, and Chitradurga were carried out by over a hundred Lokayukta authorities.

While delivering the verdict, Justice Nagarathna said, “Section 125 will apply to all women, not just married women.” The bench said that alimony is not a donation but a right of married women and it applies to all married women, irrespective of their religion.

NEET UG counselling postponed till further notice amid paper leak controversy

Big accident during tank exercise in Ladakh, five Indian military personnel died due to rising water level
