Lokayukta took a big action in Karnataka in cases of disproportionate assets, raids in 56 places in 9 districts

Karnataka Raids: Several government officials in Karnataka were raided this morning by the anti-corruption agency Lokayukta. According to an official, the Lokayukta has carried out raids in response to complaints and accusations involving disproportionate assets.

Raids were carried out in nine districts overall about eleven cases. Raids in Kalaburagi, Madhya, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Dharwad, Belgaum, Kolar, Mysore, Hassan, and Chitradurga were carried out by over a hundred Lokayukta authorities.

Let me tell you, about 11 cases of disproportionate assets, simultaneous raids were carried out at 56 locations. Working with police teams under the direction of the district superintendents of police, the anti-corruption agency carried out searches.

ACB on Thursday raided the houses and other places of Shiv Sena UBT MLA Rajan Salvi

Once again Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray is in trouble. An ACB team raided the home of Rajan Salvi, the leader of Shiv Sena Thackeray’s Ratnagiri faction.

According to officials, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided homes and other locations connected to opposition Shiv Sena UBT MLA Rajan Salvi on Thursday in connection with a suspected corruption probe. Rajan Salvi has responded to the whole thing.

He responded by saying, “I’m prepared to take on the investigation. This isn’t a raids. This probe does not frighten me.” According to Rajan Salvi, “I was mentally prepared to face the investigation and I will face the investigation” on the day the first notice was sent.

In an alleged case of assets disproportionate to income, the ACB conducted the search operation.

HC sentenced Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister to 3 years imprisonment, imposed a fine of Rs 50-50 lakhs

In a case involving disproportionate assets, the Madras High Court on Thursday convicted Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudy to three years in prison under the Prevention of Corruption Act. As a result, he lost his position as minister and was banned from serving as an MLA.

Based on the information obtained, P Vishalakshi, K. Ponmudy’s wife, was also given a three-year jail sentence by Judge G Jayachandran. Ponmudy and his spouse were also fined Rs 50 lakh apiece by the judge. The minister and his spouse were already found guilty by the High Court and given a sentence today.

To allow him to file a special leave petition before the Supreme Court, senior counsel NR Elango asked the court to grant him leave and suspend the sentence while speaking on behalf of the offenders. In response, the judge delayed the sentence for 30 days and gave 30 days of leave. The judge declared that he would have to turn himself up to the trial court in Villupuram at the end of the suspension time.

Special Vigilance Unit raid three bases of SDM in Bihar, case of disproportionate assets

Bihar: On Thursday, the Special Vigilance Unit raided three of SDM Satyendra Prasad’s residences in Bhabhua, Bihar. This step was taken by the Vigilance unit team by filing a case of disproportionate assets.

At the feet of Bhabhua SDM in Patna, Mohania, and Bettiah, there is activity. According to allegations of abuse of power, Satyendra Prasad has amassed disproportionate assets totaling roughly Rs 84 lakh.

Information indicates that Vigilance was frequently receiving complaints about Bhabhua SDM abusing his position of authority. Following an investigation into the situation, Satyendra Prasad was found to be the victim of the allegations.

CBI registers disproportionate assets case against former Jaipur enforcement officer

A former Jaipur enforcement officer was accused by the CBI of accumulating assets that were out of proportion to his known sources of income.

According to information, Shyam Lal Akhand, the former Enforcement Officer, Sub-Regional Office, EPFO, Ujjain (now posted at EPFO, Jabalpur), was the subject of a complaint in this respect filed with the CBI on May 9.

His purported acquisition of assets totaling Rs 69, 29, 643, or 83.18 percent more than his disclosed source of income, has been asserted.
