Kolkata News: The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra rally planned for this Friday by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been denied permission by the Birbhum district police, who have also threatened to take serious police action should the gathering be organized.
According to a statement from the superintendent of police in Birbhum district, permission for the rally has been canceled due to the secondary examinations that the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) is holding starting this Friday.
With immediate effect, the Congress President has designated former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as a Senior Observer to oversee the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and other party events in Bihar.
Rahul Gandhi has been questioned by former Youth Congress leader Angkita Dutta on when he will receive justice. As the ‘Bharat jodo Nyay Yatra’ entered the state of Assam, protestors led by former Youth Congress leader Angkita Dutta, who has accused Indian Youth Congress leader Srinivas BV of harassment, staged demonstrations in Sivasagar, Assam.
“I was kicked out of the party for trying to bring an oppressor to justice…I’m sure Rahul ji will treat me and the women of ‘Nyay’ fairly now that he’s in Assam.”
