A vaccine, Corbevax, manufactured by Biological Evans in Hyderabad, will be administered to children between 12 and 14 years of age according to government directives. Rajesh Bhushan, the Union Health Secretary, had already announced that only Corbiwax would be applied to children aged 12-14.
The vaccine will be available at any vaccination center that offers a free vaccination, making it the third one against COVID-19 available to the country.
New guidelines for vaccination of children aged 12-14 years were released by the central government on Tuesday. These guidelines stipulate that the vaccine manufactured by Biological E is an intramuscular vaccine administered twice over 28 days. It will be given at intervals of 14 days. As of Tuesday, the vaccination center informed us that children aged 14 to 15 are being vaccinated during vaccinations for 15 to 18-year-olds.
There are an estimated 47 crore children between the ages of 12 and 13 in India as of March 1, 2021, according to the report. A child born in 2010 or earlier and who has reached 12 years of age can register for vaccination on CoWIN according to guidelines.
