Ration Card Update: Government made a new rule for taking ration, know what are the new changes

If you are a ration card holder and take advantage of government ration, then there is important news for you. Keeping in mind the interest of the ration beneficiaries, the government has made necessary rules. Actually, the ration gives less ration to the quoted people by messing up the weight many times. Therefore, the government has now made an electronic point of sale mandatory at ration shops.

Department has implemented the necessary rules

It is noteworthy that the National Food Security Act has made it mandatory for the ration beneficiaries to get the right amount of ration, for this, the central government has made it mandatory to connect the electronic point of sale (EPOS) devices with electronic scales at the ration shops. In order to increase transparency in ration shops and to prevent undercutting, the government has taken this step to weigh food grains for beneficiaries.

Know what the rule says

It is believed that the government is reforming the food grain weighing process under Section 12 of the Act to make the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) more transparent. Approximately 80 crore people receive five kilograms of wheat and rice (foodgrains) per year through the National Food Security Act (NFSA), subsidized at a rate of Rs 2-3 per kg.

Know what changed?

Food Security 2015 has been amended in rule 7 of sub-rule (2) to incentivize states to provide rations through EPOS devices by introducing an additional profit of Rs.17.00 per quintal, officials said.
