Shefali Shah, Vir Das, Jim Sarbh Nominated for International Emmys Awards 2023

At the highly anticipated 2023 International Emmys, Netflix India received two nominations for International Emmy awards. The International Emmy Awards will be held on November 20, 2023, in New York City.

Shefali Shah, who returned to play DCP Vartika Chaturvedi aka Madam Sir in Season 2 of the crime thriller Delhi Crime, received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress, and Vir Das‘ hilarious stand-up special, Vir Das: Landing, received a nomination for Best Comedy. In the meantime, Jim Sarbh’s portrayal in the Sony LIV original series Rocket Boys has earned him a coveted International Emmy nomination.

With its historic first-ever victory for India at the 2020 International Emmys for Best Drama Series, Delhi Crime Season 1 helped place India on the international map. The crime drama has earned Shefali Shah, the incomparable actress, a second International Emmy nomination, this time in the Best Actress category.

For his Netflix special Vir Das: For India, which received a 2021 International Emmy nomination, Vir Das was previously honored. This year, he returned with Vir Das: Landing in the Comedy category.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut congratulated fellow actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for being nominated for the prestigious 2021 International Emmy Awards, which included 44 nominees across 11 categories from 24 countries.

A Nomination for Nawazuddin’s performance in Netflix’s “Serious Men” has been received. The actor was nominated in the category of best actor for his performance in Sudhir Mishra’s feature film. Among the contestants in the best actor category is British star David Tennant (“Des”) as well as actors such as Roy Nik from Israel (“Normali”) and Colombian Christian Tappan (“El Robo del Siglo” or “The Great Heist”).

As Kangana posted in her Instagram story, she shared a photo of Nawazudding Siddiqui with the text, “Congratulations sir. You are most definitely one of the best actors in the world.”

In 2010, the book of the same name by Manu Joseph was adapted into a film called “Serious Men.” The central plot revolves around the exploits of a shrewd underachiever who uses the fame of his kid as a trump card to gain an advantage over his family.

In response to being nominated for an International Emmy, the actor stated, “Working with Sudhir and playing the role of Ayyan Mani in “Serious Men” was a dream come true for me and the International Emmy nomination is a validation of all the hard work we poured into the film. I feel honoured to portray meaningful stories that are being recognised globally – which is now a reality thanks to platforms like Netflix.”

We expect to announce the winners in person on November 22 in New York City, at the 2021 International Emmy Awards.

Earlier this year, Netflix’s critically acclaimed series “Delhi Crime” won the International Emmy Award for best drama series.
