Police have reportedly detained 40 persons in this instance, according to the report. The conflict resulted in numerous injuries. Two of the six establishments that were broken into were set on fire. Six automobiles and two bicycles were reportedly also damaged by the mob. Vandalism and stone-throwing have also been reported in other homes. The violence has also harmed 7 police officers.
The clash has sparked a verbal battle between the Trinamool Congress (TMC), in power, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in opposition. The ruling party responded strongly to the BJP’s assertion that West Bengal’s law-and-order situation had gotten worse. The BJP, according to Trinamool, is attempting to destabilize the state’s atmosphere.
Section 144 has been put in place in the region until October 12 due to tight circumstances. At the same time, the court sentenced 40 people who had been detained to seven days in police custody. All of these accused have been the subject of numerous serious claims, including violence and property destruction. The police are saying that additional people may be detained in the upcoming days because everything that was done in this act of sabotage was recorded on CCTV.
Shubhendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the assembly, said on Twitter that he has written to both Governor L Ganesan and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. As a result of the violence at Mominpur police station and vandalism at Iqbalpur police station, it has called on central forces to be deployed quickly in the affected districts to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
