Mumbai Airport makes world record, welcomes more than 51 million passengers in 2023

Mumbai International Airport (CSMIA) closed 2023 with a triumphant roar, recording a staggering 51.58 million passengers – a testament to the resilience of India’s aviation industry. This figure marks not only a 35% surge compared to 2022 but also a remarkable 110% recovery when measured against pre-pandemic levels of 2019.

The airport buzzed with activity, registering over 25.4 million arrivals and 26.1 million departures, underscoring Mumbai’s position as a vital air travel hub.

Further solidifying this upward trajectory, CSMIA also saw a 20% increase in Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) with 3,34,391 recorded in 2023 compared to 2,77,052 in 2022. This thriving movement of aircraft reflects the robust growth of both domestic and international travel through Mumbai’s gateway. As the world continues to navigate the post-pandemic landscape, Mumbai International Airport stands tall, a beacon of connectivity and progress, ready to welcome an even brighter future in the skies.
