Nepalese mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa broke her own record by climbing Mount Everest for the 27th time

Kami Rita Sherpa, world-renowned Nepalese Mountaineer, and 27th Everest conqueror, regained his title on Wednesday.

The 53-year-old tour guide was, according to Nepal’s tourist ministry, at an elevation of 8,848.86 meters on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. He once more broke the record for most consecutive ascents of Mount Everest.

He is unharmed and secure. Pasang Dawa, a Nepalese Sherpa guide, climbed the mountain for the 26th time on Sunday, equaling his record.

Since his initial ascent of Everest in 1994, Kami Rita has nearly annually ascended the peak.
