Punjab’s Sangrur court issues summons to Mallikarjun Kharge in a defamation case

Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president of the Congress, is under fire for his comments regarding the Bajrang Dal during the Karnataka elections. He has been sent a summons in a defamation lawsuit worth Rs 100 crore by the Sangrur court in Punjab.

Ramandeep Kaur, the Chief Civil Judge of Sangrur (Senior Division), has ordered Kharge to appear before the court on July 10.

Following Hitesh Bhardwaj’s petition to the Hindu Security Council, action was taken against Kharge. Al Qaeda, SIMMI, and PFI were mentioned in comparisons of Bajrang to such anti-national groups. The petitioner described it as a disparaging remark directed at Bajrang Dal.
