Bad news for Australian team before World Cup 2023, this player out due to injury

The World Cup of 2023, which will begin on October 5, is rapidly approaching. The teams’ announcement will commence soon as well. Prior to that, though, the Australia team received unsettling news that their top all-arounder Glenn Maxwell would not be playing them. He may or may not be able to participate in the World Cup, but that has not yet been decided.

The great all-rounder Glenn Maxwell’s injury to his left ankle has caused him to miss the forthcoming three-match T20I series against South Africa, dealing a severe setback to the Australian cricket team.

Glenn Maxwell has been replaced by wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade for Australia. To join the team, he has been summoned back. In the T20 World Cup 2022, Matthew Wade last participated.

Not just Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the next South Africa series. He joins a list of other players who will not participate in the T20I phase of the trip, including Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Cameron Green, and David Warner.
