Shefali Shah, Vir Das, Jim Sarbh Nominated for International Emmys Awards 2023

At the highly anticipated 2023 International Emmys, Netflix India received two nominations for International Emmy awards. The International Emmy Awards will be held on November 20, 2023, in New York City.

Shefali Shah, who returned to play DCP Vartika Chaturvedi aka Madam Sir in Season 2 of the crime thriller Delhi Crime, received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress, and Vir Das‘ hilarious stand-up special, Vir Das: Landing, received a nomination for Best Comedy. In the meantime, Jim Sarbh’s portrayal in the Sony LIV original series Rocket Boys has earned him a coveted International Emmy nomination.

With its historic first-ever victory for India at the 2020 International Emmys for Best Drama Series, Delhi Crime Season 1 helped place India on the international map. The crime drama has earned Shefali Shah, the incomparable actress, a second International Emmy nomination, this time in the Best Actress category.

For his Netflix special Vir Das: For India, which received a 2021 International Emmy nomination, Vir Das was previously honored. This year, he returned with Vir Das: Landing in the Comedy category.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vir Das, and Sushmita Sen have been nominated for the 2021 International Emmy Awards. In recent days, the country rejoiced along with movie and web series fans nationwide when news broke that Aarya, Sushmita Sen’s highly acclaimed web series streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, was nominated for Best Drama Series of the 2021 International Emmy Awards.

In addition to Aarya, Iran and There She Goes are also nominated for the award, and no one should be surprised that Sushmita Sen, the lead star, cannot contain her excitement.

Sushmita is a gracious, giving soul, so she also conveyed her congratulations to Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vir Das, who will join Aarya as the other Indians nominated for this year’s International Emmys.

The Netflix series Serious Men, directed by Sudhir Mishra and released last year, has nominated Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Best Actor in a Drama Series. David Tennant (Des), Roy Nik of Israel (Normali), and Christian Tappan of Colombia (El Robo del Siglo or The Great Heist) is his fellow nominees.

As for Vir Das, his stand-up special Vir Das: For India has been nominated under the category of Best Comedy alongside Call My Agent, Motherland: Christmas Special, and Promises of the Bell.
