Piyali Basak, a resident of the Hooghly district, has become the first woman mountaineer in India to climb Mount Everest without oxygen. Her hometown is Chandannagar in Hooghly. This success was achieved after his second attempt. Also last time, she was very close to the peak, but due to lack of funding, she couldn’t make it.

According to reports, this record is unprecedented in the history of conquering Mount Everest. There have been many people who have climbed Everest without oxygen. Mountaineers from India and abroad have also conquered Everest without oxygen, but Piyali Basak is the first woman in the country to do so. At Camp Four, she returned to the summit after conquering Everest.

Piyali Basak had previously scaled Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse without oxygen support. There were reports that he almost had to give up his campaign due to a lack of funds. However, he eventually got permission for Everest again and conquered it.
