Signs of fourth wave of corona in India intensified

According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, 5,233 new cases of Corona virus were reported in India in the last 24 hours, with seven resulting in death.

A total of 3,345 discharges occurred in the country over the last 24 hours, bringing the overall recovery rate to 98.72 percent and the overall recovery data to 4,26,36,710. A report from the Ministry of Health today showed that COVID-19 active cases in India have reached 28,857. The active cases registered yesterday stood at 26,976.

COVID-19 has registered an increase of 1,881 cases during the last 24 hours. Activated cases make up 0.06 percent of overall infections, according to the ministry. There have been 5,24,715 deaths in the country so far.

Likewise, Maharashtra recorded 1,881 Covid cases on Tuesday, up 81% from Monday, while Mumbai alone contributed to 1,242 infections.

In accordance with the health department, a single case of Omicron B.A.5 variant has been reported. The health department reported that a 31-year-old woman from Pune had tested positive for the B.A.5 variant. In addition, it said that the woman was asymptomatic and recuperated in home isolation. As of Tuesday, the state didn’t report any Covid-related deaths.

As of Monday, Maharashtra had 1,036 infections. As of February 19, Maharashtra had 1,635 new cases, after which the case numbers decreased, but once again on Tuesday, the new Covid infections were close to 2000.
