Calatagan, Batangas, was shaken on Thursday morning by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3, according to official seismologists. The magnitude was initially recorded by Phivolcs as 6.2, but it was later changed to 6.3.
The tectonic tremor was reported to have occurred at 10:19 a.m. and struck 15 km west of Calatagan, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). It was 119 km deep.
