Heavy rains expected in Himachal Pradesh-Uttarakhand, orange alert issued for seven states

The problems could be made worse by Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand‘s heavy rainfall and landslides. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh will experience severe to very heavy rainfall, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. From August 21 to August 24, an orange alert has been issued for these seven states.

In Himachal and Uttarakhand, the Meteorological Department expects significant rainfall ranging from 115.6 to 204.4 mm. It was also mentioned that landslides and floods could occur in the impacted areas at this time. Thunderstorms and lightning warnings have also been issued in addition to this.

On August 22 and 23, extremely heavy rains between 115.6 and 204.4 mm are predicted for western Uttar Pradesh as well. Between August 21 and 24, eastern UP may get severe rain.

The northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram as well as Rajasthan are expected to see severe rainfall over the course of the next three days, according to the meteorological department.
