Devendra Fadnavis to Take Oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister Tomorrow

Mumbai: The suspense over Maharashtra’s Chief Minister has ended as Devendra Fadnavis has been unanimously chosen as the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party. Devendra Fadnavis to take oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister tomorrow.

Fadnavis, along with Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, visited Raj Bhavan today to meet Governor CP Radhakrishnan. They submitted a letter of support from MLAs to stake a claim to form the government. The Governor has approved their request, and the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow evening at Azad Maidan, starting at 5:30 pm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the event.

Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde extended his best wishes to Fadnavis, stating, “We sought the Governor’s permission to form the government, which has been granted. Devendra Fadnavis will become the Chief Minister, and we wholeheartedly support him. The Mahayuti alliance is united, and we will work as a team to serve the people of Maharashtra.” Shinde also mentioned that he had informed PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah about the alliance’s decision.

Fadnavis expressed gratitude to Shinde and Pawar for recommending his name for the Chief Minister’s post. He said, “The Mahayuti has come together to present a strong government. We will work to fulfill our promises and take Maharashtra to new heights. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah for trusting me with this responsibility.”
