Microsoft Bing’s new ‘Deep Search’ feature, adept at answering complex questions

OpenAI‘s GPT-4 is powering a new “Deep Search” feature coming to Microsoft Bing. The purpose of the function is to provide users with more thorough and pertinent responses to challenging search queries.

Microsoft notes that Deep Search is not a replacement for Bing’s existing web search, and is instead an enhancement that allows for deeper exploration of the web.

Microsoft describes the new feature in a blog post. It improves upon Bing’s existing web index and ranking engine by using GPT-4, which takes the search query and transforms it into a more detailed description of what should be included in the results.

When your search query is more unclear, Deep Search will identify all potential meanings and provide a thorough description for each one. After that, Deep Search shows you these intentions so you may choose the appropriate one.

OpenAI releases GPT-3.5-turbo and GPT-4 features for generative text

ChatGPT creator OpenAI is lowering prices and improving its text-generation models. New iterations of GPT-3.5-turbo and GPT-4 have been released, according to OpenAI.

Function calling, a feature of the recent improvements to GPT-4, enables programmers to explain programming functions to GPT-3.5-turbo and GPT-4 and have the models generate code to execute those functions.

According to a blog post by OpenAI, “these models have been fine-tuned to both detect when a function needs to be called… and to respond with JSON that adheres to the function signature.”

The business claims that GPT-4-32k-0613 has the same enhancements as GPT-4-0613 in addition to a longer context duration for easier comprehension of longer texts.
