Deep pressure over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’

Officials said Thursday morning that a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm — Mocha — that could make landfall between Cox’s Bazar and Sittwe in Myanmar.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclonic storm was around 510 km southwest of Port Blair at 8.30 am.
