BCCI will field seven commentators in February to cover three One Day Internationals and as many Twenty20 Internationals against West Indies. Shastri is not present. In addition to Gavaskar, Agarkar, Bhogle, Murali, Dasgupta, and Sivaramakrishnan, the panel includes Ganesh Gupta and Ajit Agarkar. The list includes former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop as well. Shastri will not comment on the series with Sri Lanka.

Ravi Shastri has decided to refrain from commentating until at least IPL 2022, says a source close to him. During the past two months, he has been working on different projects. Then he will consider commentary. During his almost 7-year tenure as Team India’s coach, Shastri coached the team twice. It’s a big name in commentary. After the World T20, he ended his role as coach. There has been speculation since then that he would immediately grab the microphone and begin commentating. However, they didn’t.

Shastri is associated with the Legends League Cricket

Shastri is currently serving as the commissioner of Legends League Cricket in Muscat. It’s been a while since he started commenting. Moreover, he made comments about the final of the T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007. Additionally, he handled the microphone at the 2011 ODI World Cup final. But after becoming the full-time coach of Team India in 2017, he had to give up commentary. However, his time as coach is now over. Since this is the case, fans are hoping for an early return to the commentary box.

The India-West Indies series begins on February 6

India and West Indies will play three ODIs and as many T20Is starting on 6 February. T20 matches will be played in Kolkata, while one-day internationals will be played in Ahmedabad.
