Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran Join Team for Meghna Gulzar’s Crime-Drama ‘Daayra’

Bollywood is buzzing with the exciting news of a fresh collaboration! Two powerhouse performers, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, are set to share the screen for the first time in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming directorial venture, ‘Daayra’.

Known for helming critically acclaimed and impactful films like ‘Raazi’ and ‘Talvar’, Meghna Gulzar reunites with Junglee Pictures for this intriguing crime-drama. The film promises to delve into the “topical and diabolical realities unfolding in society today,” hinting at a narrative that will resonate with contemporary audiences.  

‘Daayra’ marks a significant milestone for Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is celebrating her 25th year in Hindi cinema. Expressing her enthusiasm, she stated her long-standing admiration for Meghna Gulzar’s work and excitement about collaborating with Prithviraj, whose talent she deeply respects.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, fresh off the massive success of his Malayalam blockbuster ‘L2: Empuraan’, also shared his excitement for the project, revealing that he was thoroughly absorbed by his character and the film’s layered narrative, which he believes will connect with a wide audience.  

The screenplay of ‘Daayra’ is a collaborative effort, co-written by Meghna Gulzar alongside Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal. Currently in the pre-production phase, ‘Daayra’ is already generating considerable anticipation due to the stellar cast and the director’s proven track record in delivering compelling and thought-provoking cinema. Second song ‘Banda’ from Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ released

Sam Bahadur Song Banda Out: The much-awaited biographical war drama ‘Sam Bahadur‘, based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, has unveiled its second song, ‘Banda’, igniting a wave of patriotic fervor.

Penned by the legendary Gulzar and composed by the musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the song captures the essence of Sam Manekshaw’s unwavering spirit and the valor of the Indian soldiers he led.

Featuring Vicky Kaushal as Sam Bahadur, the song showcases the camaraderie and resilience of the Indian army, echoing the sentiments of the film’s theme – ‘Jinke dil mein josh ho, jinke hath mein josh ho, woh hain Sam Bahadur!’

Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies, ‘Sam Bahadur’ is scheduled to hit the cinemas on December 1st, 2023. The film also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles.

Makers of Sam Bahadur shared new poster of Vicky Kaushal, will be released on this day

Two years have passed since the announcement of the biopic of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Vicky Kaushal, who plays the movie’s main character, has a new poster out.

“Sam Bahadur,” a film directed by Meghna Gulzar, is based on a real-life event. Two weeks ago, the movie’s teaser was unveiled, featuring not only Vicky but also tidbits of the narrative. The filmmakers have released a new poster featuring Vicky as an officer perched atop the car and giving it a serious look.

The movie’s release date has been disclosed in addition to the poster’s release. On December 1, 2023, the film will be released in theaters. The part of Vicky’s wife is portrayed by Sanya Malhotra in the Sam Bahadur movie.
