Cyclone Biparjoy turns into very severe cyclonic storm, IMD issues warning

The ‘Orange Alert’ is still in effect for the state’s Saurashtra and Kutch coasts as Cyclone Biparjoy has grown into a very strong cyclonic storm, according to the India Meteorological Department. It will pass across Gujarat‘s Jakhau port by Thursday evening.

The Palghar district administration in Maharashtra has issued a warning and has outright forbidden people from moving anywhere near the shore from June 13 to June 15. This is because of the cyclonic storm Biparjoy’s growing threat.

Because of Cyclone Biparjoy, both the state and federal governments are on high alert. There are 12 NDRF teams working for us, and they are spread out across the districts of Kutch, Porbandar, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Morbi, and Rajkot.

Deep pressure over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’

Officials said Thursday morning that a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm — Mocha — that could make landfall between Cox’s Bazar and Sittwe in Myanmar.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclonic storm was around 510 km southwest of Port Blair at 8.30 am.

Netherlands: Alert issued regarding Eunice Storm, 167 flights canceled

Several flights have been delayed in the Netherlands due to storm warnings. Dutch airline KLM says it canceled 167 scheduled flights on Friday due to the storm. The Meteorological Service of the Netherlands has requested that the public be alerted to the Eunice storm.
