CM Bhupesh Baghel demands ban on online betting, writes letter to PM Narendra Modi

Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting the banning of websites and platforms associated with the illegal betting industry. The Chief Minister has sent a letter to the Prime Minister requesting that the illicit online betting apps be outlawed.

PM Modi has been advised by CM Baghel to put a total ban on all associated platforms, including online, APK, Telegram, Instagram, URLs, and others, in order to discourage betting.

In the letter, he stated that internet gaming and betting had allowed the gambling and betting industry to grow throughout the nation throughout the past several years. Its owners have been conducting illicit activities overseas. On this, only central level action is feasible.

NIA arrests two Naxals including a woman in Chhattisgarh’s 2019 Tiriya encounter case

According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), two Naxals, including a woman, have been detained in connection with the 2019 Tiriya encounter case in Chhattisgarh, which resulted in the deaths of six Naxals and one civilian.

B.Ch. Padma and Dubasi Devender were apprehended by the NIA on Sunday following in-depth investigations into the case, also known as the RK Dairy case, according to a statement from the NIA. Four suspects in the case have been apprehended by the NIA thus far.

ED arrests Nitesh Purohit, accused in Rs 2,000 crore liquor scam in Chhattisgarh

A suspect in the Rs 2,000 crore liquor scam in Chhattisgarh, Nitesh Purohit, was detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday.

The second arrest in this case occurred today. Later on in the day, Purohit will be brought before a Special PMLA court. The ED is prepared to ask for his incarceration.

Anwar Dhebar, the brother of Raipur Mayor Ajaz Dhebar, was identified as the primary mastermind behind the liquor scam by the ED on Monday.

Currently, Anwar is under the custody of the ED. In the early hours of May 6, he was apprehended while attempting to flee and get out of a hotel through the backdoor.
