Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina stunned the sport when he announced his retirement from all forms of the game. Mr. IPL Raina, as he is more well known, tweeted his decision today, or Tuesday. In his tweet, he noted that representing his country and state is a huge honor. I would like to declare my retirement from cricket in all its forms. I want to express my gratitude to Rajeev Shukla, the BCCI, the UP Cricket Association, Chennai Super Kings, and all of my supporters.

Retired from international cricket in 2020
The announcement of Raina and Dhoni‘s retirements from international cricket on August 15, 2020, is significant. However, he was participating in domestic cricket, particularly the IPL, with Chennai Super Kings. However, CSK did not buy for him in the auction last season and released him prior to the mega auction. This marked Raina’s first unpurchased season in the IPL.
Can play in foreign leagues
On September 5, Raina also uploaded a video of himself playing cricket. But a day later, he shocked the supporters with his choice. As a result of Raina’s decision, he won’t be seen competing in the IPL or any other domestic league. Raina reportedly made this decision in order to play in overseas competitions.
Additionally, there is talk that this all-arounder would be able to compete in South Africa’s T20 competition starting in 2023. The Chennai Super Kings’ owners have acquired the Johannesburg team in this league as well. The six clubs in this competition, which will be run similarly to the IPL, have all been acquired by IPL franchise owners.

Regarding Raina’s IPL career, he spent a significant amount of time with Chennai Super Kings. In the league, he took part in 205 games and ran for 5528 runs. His bat also scored a century and 39 half-centuries during this time. In his 322 matches across all three formats during his international career, Raina amassed 7988 runs at an average of 32.87 and a strike rate of 92.45. Additionally, he contributed 48 half-centuries and seven centuries. In addition, Raina took a total of 62 wickets while bowling and 167 catch while fielding.
