WhatsApp cracks down on fraudulent accounts in India, bans over 75 lakh in October

In October, WhatsApp banned a record-breaking 75 lakh fraudulent accounts in India by the new IT Rules 2021. The corporation banned “7,548,000 accounts” between October 1 and October 1.

Before any user reports, WhatsApp proactively banned over 1,919,000 of these accounts, according to its monthly compliance report.
