Major plane crash in Mizoram; Myanmar Air Force plane crashes at Lengpui airport, eight people injured

Mizoram Plane Crash: Today, January 23, a plane crashed in Lengpui, Mizoram. This accident resulted in six injuries. This aircraft, registered to the Burma Army (Tatpadau), is believed to be the one that crashed at Lengpui Airport.

The pilot and fourteen other persons were in the aircraft. The injured have been admitted to Lengpui Hospital, according to Mizoram DGP.

According to reports, a Myanmar Air Force aircraft skidded off Lengpui airfield in the capital city of Aizawl, Mizoram, injuring at least eight crew members.

To return the final 92 Myanmar soldiers to their homeland, a fixed-wing transport aircraft from the Myanmar Air Force arrived at Lengpui airport. Six of the 14 passengers on board the medium-sized aircraft, including the pilot, were reported to be safe by officials, while eight of them were injured. The injured were sent to Lengpui Hospital right away.

This Mizoram railway bridge that was still under construction has apparently collapsed in the Sairang area, around 20 kilometers from Aizawl. According to the news, “About 35 to 40 workers were present at the site when the bridge collapsed.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the disaster and made an announcement that each individual killed in the accident would receive Rs 2 lakh in compensation, along with Rs 50,000 for those who were injured. According to the prime minister, the rescue effort is ongoing, and those in need are receiving all available assistance.
