Government of India blocked 14 messenger mobile apps, these apps were used for terrorist activities

The central government has taken a significant step by blocking 14 mobile communication apps. After receiving a recommendation from security and intelligence organisations, the central government made this choice.

These messaging platforms were utilised in terrorist acts. These mobile messaging apps were being used by terrorists. Through these apps, the terrorists used to receive messages from Pakistan.

Blocked these messenger apps-

These apps include Crypviser, Enigma, Safeswiss, Wickrme, Mediafire, Briar, BChat, Nandbox, Conion, IMO, Element, Second line, Zangi, Threema are included.

Ban removed from these apps; Central Government lifted the ban after submitting the report

More than 232 apps that were related to loans and gambling were recently outlawed in India by the government. The government had claimed that these apps had ties to China, although several of these apps are no longer prohibited.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology reportedly required all enterprises to submit their one-week functioning report when these apps were prohibited. The Center has totally revoked the prohibition on LazyPay, Kissht, IndiabullsHomeLoans, BuddyLoan, faircent, KreditBee, and mPokket following the working report.

Action taken under IT Act

The Ministry of Home Affairs had recommended the apps that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had prohibited. Section 69 of the IT Act was used to impose the app restriction.
