Violence flares up again in Manipur, three Kuki civilians killed in firing

After a pause over the previous few days, violence broke out in Manipur, a state plagued by violence, once more on Friday morning. Sources claim that at around 5.30 am, suspected Meitei armed miscreants and Kuki volunteers engaged in gunfire in the village of Thawai Kuki, which is within the jurisdiction of Liton police station in the Ukhrul district. Three Kuki people have died, according to the report.

Other security forces, including BSF, have arrived at the scene in the wake of the event. Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and are conducting a search.

The Meitei miscreants began attacking the village duty post where the volunteers were on duty to guard the village, according to sources. There are reports of three Kuki volunteers dying in this shooting.

A separate investigation has also been launched by the Central Investigation Agency, the CBI, into violence in Manipur. 29 women officers are included in a 53-member team, which has been formed for this purpose.

BSF recovers 14 small packets of narcotics in Firozpur, Punjab

On Wednesday, Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 14 small packets of heroin, estimated to weigh approximately 500 grams, from the border.

In the Firozpur district, BSF troops were conducting an area dominance patrol when they saw strange footprints close to the village of Gandhi Kilcha. During the search, they discovered suspected heroin packages that had been wrapped in yellow adhesive tape.

The Border Security Force stated in a press statement that on Wednesday at around 6:45 a.m., the personnel conducting an area domination patrol in front of the border fence saw odd footprints close to the village of Gandu Kilcha in the district of Ferozepur.

BSF saved 135 rare birds from smugglers from Nadia in West Bengal

In the Nadia region of West Bengal, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday freed 135 birds from smugglers close to the international boundary between India and Bangladesh.

The captured birds are rare species of parrots. In order to take legal action, the seized birds have been handed over to the Forest Department Bethuadahari.
