Meta expands access to Instagram’s creator marketplace in India

With the announcement that it is now allowing more businesses to search for creators to collaborate with on Instagram campaigns, Meta is now opening up access to its Creator Marketplace tool.

When Meta initially opened its Creator Marketplace in 2022, it allowed US brands to look for and get in touch with influencers on relevant platforms based on a variety of criteria, including location, follower counts, focus topics, and more.

Furthermore, businesses in the following countries will now have access to the tool: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, India, and Brazil.

Apart from expanding its reach, Meta is also introducing new machine learning-driven suggestions in the Creator Marketplace. These recommendations utilize Instagram data to make it easier for marketers to find creators who best align with their campaigns.

YouTube brings new channel pages for creators on its TV app

YouTube, a company owned by Google, has updated the layout of creators‘ channels on its TV app to enhance user experience and increase accessibility to content on larger screens. In the video unveiling the changes to creators’ pages, YouTube stated that the main goals of the revamp are to provide a more engaging look and simpler ways to subscribe.

The company unveiled fresh data that shows top creators who spend most of their time watching TV have grown by more than 400% in the last three years, which is why the new design was created.

“From a live sporting event to the BBC, Khan Academy, and NikkieTutorials, viewers want it all in one spot. In a blog post, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan stated, “And they’re watching YouTube the way we used to sit down together for traditional TV shows — on the biggest screen in the home with friends and family.”

Instagram Ranking Algorithm Changed

In a tweet late on Wednesday, Mosseri said, “We’ve added new ways to tag and improved ranking: Product tags, enhanced tags, and originality ranking.”

“Creators are so important to the future of Instagram, and we want to ensure that they are successful and receive all the credit they deserve,” he said.

Mosseri responded to a tweet from social media consultant Matt Navarra by stating that Instagram already promotes original content, but that the platform is leaning more towards it and will continue to do so.

“With recommendations becoming more and more important, it’s becoming more important that we don’t overvalue aggregators, since that would be detrimental to creators and Instagram long term,” Mosseri said in a tweet.

Instagram stated that credit and monetization should go directly to the original creator.

If you create something from scratch, you should be credited more than if you re-share something that has already been created by someone else. Rather than reposting content, we want to put more value on original content,” Instagram’s head said.

Creators getting bonus $10k from Instagram for posting Reels on Instagram

A new bonus program now pays users who post videos on Instagram’s Reels up to $10,000 as an incentive to become content creators. Instagram is owned by Meta.

According to 9To5Mac, in the Reels Play bonus program, creators will have the opportunity to earn up to $10,000 if their short videos called “Reels” are posted.

The bonus program’s rules, however, are unclear to users, according to TechCrunch. Several people with more than 50,000 followers earn more than $1,000 each month, but those with fewer followers earn only $600. Other creators reported being offered $800 if they reached 1.7 million views on all their Reels in one month.

Users can “expect them to fluctuate as Instagram tests its bonus program with a small number of creators.” Instagram says that the bonus program is still in its infancy.

Bonuses will be more individualized in the future, the company claims. At present, these bonuses are “rolling out slowly” and not all users are eligible. You can only receive this bonus if you live in the United States.
