Weather Update: News of relief in the midst of summer, it will rain in these areas today

In many parts of North-West India, the heat is intensifying day by day. The heat of May-June has already begun to be felt in April. India’s north is experiencing an increase in temperature. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the next couple of days will be heavy in Delhi-NCR. There will actually be an increase in temperature, as well as the effects of the heatwave lasting longer.

In April, the India Meteorological Department predicts that there is a possibility of more severe heat and heatwaves in Northwest India and adjoining areas of Central India. Northwest India and areas adjacent to Central India will have temperatures above average, according to the Meteorological Department. It will start from Gujarat, and Rajasthan, and head eastward to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

According to the Meteorological Department, for the next three days, the heatwave will continue in northern parts of Gujarat as well as Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, South Punjab, and South Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Over the next five days, heatwave conditions will continue in some parts of Himachal Pradesh.

MD predicted that the severe heatwave conditions will be significantly worse in April as opposed to March, and they are expected to last into April 15 in some areas. Specifically, the Meteorological Department said the current wave of severe heat started primarily over western Rajasthan and adjoining areas of Gujarat and west Madhya Pradesh on March 27.

White Christmas will happen in Shimla-Manali, heavy snowfall and rain alert for 2 days

Himachal Weather News: It will be a white Christmas in Shimla-Manali this year in Himachal Pradesh. In the state, the weather will change due to western disturbances. Shimla and Manali are expected to receive snowfall.

On December 25 and 26, a yellow alert for heavy rain and snow has been issued by Shimla Meteorological Center. In the meantime, the plains and middle altitudes are predicted to have clear skies until December 24. While in the higher mountainous areas, there could be rain and snow.

The administration has advised tourists and residents to take precautions in high-altitude areas, including Kinnaur and Kullu. Clouds are also present in the Mandi district of the state on Thursday. In Kullu, there is also light sunshine and the eyes of the clouds can also be seen.

According to Neeraj Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Lahaul-Spiti, any type of tourist vehicle (except two-wheelers) will be able to get into the Lahaul Valley from 10 am to 3 pm by utilizing the Atal Tunnel. Further progress is only permitted for those tourists who have booked accommodation in local hotels or homestays. Mr. Neeraj Kumar stated that these conditions will not apply to the locals of Lahaul and Pangi.

It is possible for rain and snow to fall from 26 to 28 December in many areas of the state.

Rain and snow will intensify on the 25th and 26th of December. During this time, there is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in and around Shimla, Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti, Kullu, Sirmaur, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Bilaspur, and Solan.

It rained heavily

After overnight rains, Kolkata’s streets are flooded

Kolkata News: Parts of Kolkata city and its immediate surroundings were waterlogged by overnight rains on Monday. There was flooding along VIP Road in northeast Kolkata near Chinar Park, New Town, and Dum Dum. Amherst Street, Bechu Chatterjee Street, and Thanthania Street as well as the usual pockets in the north and center, were also submerged.

Until Monday evening, large parts of New Town, including VIP Road, were underwater, causing huge traffic jams on the arterial connecting the airport to the rest of the city. Kolkata civic officials said that water receded only after 2 pm in some areas.

After the downpour, a 2.5km stretch of VIP Road near Haldirams was flooded, causing cars to crawl on the airport-bound and Ultadanga-bound sides. In addition to VIP Road, other waterlogged areas included Kaikhali, Chinar Park, Kestopur, and Dum Dum in parts.

After Tamil Nadu, now it rains in Kerala, IMD issued an alert

There has been heavy rain in Tamil Nadu for the last several days. Kerala is now in the grip of an emergency situation. There has been an Orange Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Kerala. Six districts have been warned of heavy rains today. As well as this alert, five other districts have issued a similar one as well for Sunday.

In the last four days, heavy rains have fallen over parts of coastal Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The effect of this cyclonic storm was caused by a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, which intensified into a cyclonic storm.

Several places in Kerala have been warned of heavy to very heavy rain by the Meteorological Department. According to the IMD, Kerala will experience rain and thunder for the next three days (November 16).

If the rain continues in Kerala’s Idukki district, collector Sheeba George said Cheruthani Dam shutters may be opened on Saturday and Sunday.

The Kerala coast is likely to receive rain on Saturday, and a heavy rain warning has been issued for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Ernakulam on November 14.

Chennai roads submerged due to heavy rains, water entered the house

Rain has been pouring heavily in Chennai since the night before. A total of 21 centimeters of rain fell on the city today until 8.30 am, flooding low-lying areas.

Several cars and two-wheelers were partially submerged in the water caused by waterlogging on the roads.

Several houses in Chennai have been damaged by water, says resident Mary Bano. The water reaches the waist in some places. An electrical outage and a drainage issue have occurred on 10th street in my lane.

Chembarambakkam Lake will release water this afternoon, as all the lakes in and around Chennai are full. 82.35 ft of water have been recorded in the 85.4 ft high area of the lake.

Several districts along the Adyar River have been warned of flooding, especially Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu.

Heavy rain caused cracks in Balason Bridge in Siliguri, West Bengal, traffic was diverted

Siliguri News: Due to heavy rainfall in the Siliguri region since 20th Oct 2021, a pillar of the Balason Bridge at Matigara has been damaged. A traffic suspension has been implemented temporarily over the bridge for safety reasons. The Balason bridge is currently only open to two-wheelers and pedestrians.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Siliguri, Gaurav Sharma, examined the bridge, and police were instructed not to allow heavy vehicles to pass. The area has been heavily patrolled by police officers.

The Shiv Mandir underpass has been closed to all three-wheelers and heavy vehicles, so they should turn right and take Noukaghat Road instead. Until the weather improves, it is advised to avoid non-essential travel.

In Mahanadi (Kurseong to Sukna), landslides occurred due to heavy rain on Tuesday. Rohini Road and Pankabari Road, however, are open for traffic.

Heavy rains have caused damage to the Balason bridge, according to Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma. Until the bridge is completely repaired, traffic has been diverted for the time being.

West Bengal is likely to experience heavy rainfall, cyclone alerts issued in these states

A cyclone alert has been issued for Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) report. However, heavy rain is expected in many parts of West Bengal on Saturday.

A deep depression has developed over northeast India and the east-central Bay of Bengal, the weather department said. This cyclone may intensify into a tropical cyclone known as Cyclone Gulab and move southward towards Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh.

According to the IMD, the storm will bring heavy rains to parts of West Bengal, including Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, East Midnapore, and South 24 Parganas.

Upon receiving the IMD alert, the Kolkata Police established a ‘Unified Command Center’. Kolkata and other areas in West Bengal are expected to receive heavy rainfall this week, prompting all police divisions and stations in the area to remain on high alert.

The police are remaining prepared for any untoward incidents that may occur due to the storm by keeping gumboots and other equipment on hand.

The coastal areas of West Bengal are preparing for the storm due to cyclone alerts in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Early Saturday morning, the depression was located 590 km east of Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, 510 km southeast of Gopalpur.

This storm is expected to evolve into a cyclonic storm within 12 hours. Towards the evening of September 26, it is estimated to cross the northern and southern coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha around Kalingapatnam.”, according to the IMD.

In Chhattisgarh on September 27, moderate to heavy rains are likely to fall in most places, with extremely heavy falls possible in isolated locations.
