Piyali Basak, a resident of the Hooghly district, has become the first woman mountaineer in India to climb Mount Everest without oxygen. Her hometown is Chandannagar in Hooghly. This success was achieved after his second attempt. Also last time, she was very close to the peak, but due to lack of funding, she couldn’t make it.
