Earthquake killed six people in Nepal

Six people have been confirmed dead and five more injured after a strong 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Himalayan area of western Nepal late on Tuesday. Kathmandu, Nov. 9 (PTI) There have also been damages to numerous buildings. The epicenter of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake, which was reported by India’s National Center for Seismology (NCS), was in Nepal, around 90 km to the east-southeast of Pithoragarh in the Uttarakhand state. Multiple low-intensity earthquakes have occurred in the area in recent days.

Six were killed in the earthquake

Six individuals were killed in the earthquake, according to Phanindra Pokharel, spokesman for the Home Ministry. Five badly injured people have been admitted to the Doti district hospital, Pokharel said PTI over the phone. According to reports, the earthquake caused eight homes and a police station to collapse.

The National Earthquake Monitoring Center for Nepal reports that around 2.12 pm local time, an earthquake of a magnitude of 6.6 struck Nepal. Its hub was in the Doti neighborhood.

A number of homes were damaged during the earthquake, according to Bhola Bhatta, acting chief of the police department in Nepal’s Doti district, and some individuals were buried under the debris. Police and the army of Nepal are carrying out rescue and relief efforts.

Delhi-NCR experiences powerful earthquake tremors

There were tremors reported in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, and Delhi, as well as other cities.
