A heart attack claimed the life of popular Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar on Friday morning. He was 46. According to Dr. Ranganath Nayak, Puneeth Rajkumar was admitted to the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru on Friday at 11.30 am. At the hospital, he was unresponsive and complaining of chest pain.

Many are shocked by the tragic death of Kannada actor Puneeth. In addition to the Maharashtra Chief Minister, DMK leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi also paid their condolences to Puneeth Rajkumar on his death.
Basavaraj Bommai, the CM of the Karnataka state, took to Twitter to express grief over the death of “Karnataka’s most loved superstar”. “Shocked and deeply saddened as Karnataka’s most loved superstar #PuneetRajkumar is no longer with us.
A huge personal loss and one that’s difficult to come to terms with.
Praying the almighty gives the Rajkumar family and fans the strength to bear this loss. #OmShanti,” Basavaraj S Bommai tweeted.
“The sudden death of Puneeth Rajkumar is an incomparable loss for the Kannada film industry,” says DMK leader Kanimozhi.
“The sudden demise of Kannada film superstar Puneeth Rajkumar is an incomparable loss to the Kannada film industry. My deepest condolences to his family and his fans.,” Kanimozhi wrote on Twitter.
Dr. CN Ashwathnarayan, Minister of the state, tweeted, “He accomplished a lot from a very early age. It is hard to believe that he, who has always been the backbone of constructive programs, no longer exists.”
