In Delhi, the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Society (NMML) has been renamed the Prime Minister’s Museum and Library Society. This has led to a heated political environment.
The official house of Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first prime minister, was Teen Murti Bhavan.
A museum devoted to all the Prime Ministers of India was mooted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016 at the Teen Murti Complex. In its 162nd meeting of November 2016, the NMML Executive Council approved this. Since 21 April 2022, the Prime Minister’s Museum has been open to the public.
