A five-day process of persuasion and Sonia Gandhi‘s intervention finally convinced the adamant DK Shivakumar to relent. By conducting a news conference today, the Congress revealed the names of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for Karnataka.
Siddaramaiah has once more been given command of Karnataka by the party. Additionally, DK Shivkumar will serve as the state’s sole Deputy Chief Minister. In addition, he will continue to serve as President of the Karnataka Congress until the Lok Sabha elections.
The oath will be taken on May 20 at 12:30. Some ministers will also take the oath in addition to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. The Congress Legislature Party will meet this evening at 7 p.m. in Bengaluru.
