Lalu Yadav reached ED office in Patna, being interrogated in land in exchange for job scam case

Land For Job Scam Case: Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has been before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today to be questioned. In connection with an alleged railway job-in-lie-for-land scam, the ED has summoned Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Yadav to appear in its Patna office for interrogation about money laundering.

Rajasthan: Big action by ED in Jal Jeevan Mission scam, ED raids the premises of former minister Mahesh Joshi

Jal Jeevan Mission Case: In its investigation into suspected money laundering connected to irregularities in the “Jal Jeevan Mission,” the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday searched 6 locations associated with former Rajasthan minister Mahesh Joshi and a few others. ED raids are going on in many areas including Jaipur and Banswara.

The ED team had already conducted 25 raids in Rajasthan about the Jal Jeevan Mission corruption case. which also had IAS Subodh Aggarwal’s locations. The federal agency carried out at least two sets of raids about instances involving the central government program last year.

According to official sources, searches are being conducted by the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) at the locations connected to Joshi, a former minister of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department.

The inquiry revealed that the contractors had participated in obtaining contracts for Jal Jeevan Mission works by paying “bribes” to senior PHE department officials and using purportedly “fake” work completion certificates from Indian Railway Construction International Limited (IRCON).

On January 4, 2024, Sourav Kumar, the son of the company’s owner, was taken into custody in connection with a Kotak Mahindra Bank fraud.

After Sourav Kumar’s appearance before the CJM Court in Patna, judicial custody was ordered until January 12, 2024. Numerous incriminating documents were found during the search operations, and approximately Rs. 1.38 crore in criminal gains were found.

Manish Sisodia appears in Rouse Avenue Court, judicial custody of Sisodia extended in Delhi liquor policy scam

Manish Sisodia had his judicial detention extended by Rouse Avenue Court until the next hearing date of January 19, 2024. The accused’s attorney is given until January 15 by the court to view the documents at CBI headquarters.

In addition, the court ordered the CBI to assign enough officers to help with the inspection and to submit a compliance report.

Notably, Manish Sisodia was taken into custody by the CBI on February 26, 2023. In connection with the money laundering investigation, the ED then detained Manish Sisodia.
