PM Modi Distributes Appointment Letters to Over 71,000 Employees at Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed appointment letters to more than 71,000 newly recruited employees today, 23 December, via video conferencing. This event, called the Rozgar Mela, reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to prioritizing job creation and addressing unemployment. The ceremony took place simultaneously in 45 locations across the country.

These recruits, selected from various regions, will work in several key government ministries and departments, such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Department of Financial Services.

Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the inclusive nature of the recruitment process. Out of the 71,000 appointments, 20,901 (29.21%) positions were allocated by candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. Additionally, 11,355 (15.8%) jobs were allocated to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and 6,862 (9.59%) to the Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Employment Growth Under Modi Government

Dr. Singh also emphasized the rise in job opportunities during the last decade of the Modi government. He shared that between 2004 and 2014, around 7.22 lakh government jobs were created. However, from 2014 to 2024, this number grew significantly, reaching approximately 11 lakh—a remarkable increase of 60 to 70 percent.

Through video conferencing at the Rozgar Mela today (Monday), PM Narendra Modi gave out over 51,000 appointment letters to newly hired members of the Central Armed Police Forces.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs recruited people through the Rozgar Mela for the Delhi Police, Narcotics Control Bureau, and various Central Armed Police Forces. There were 45 locations across the nation where this employment fair was held.

The Prime Minister also spoke to the newly recruited employees on this occasion. Paramilitary forces recruitment has been changed significantly in recent years by the government, he said. At the event, Modi also spoke about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, which he said has been instrumental in empowering villages, generating jobs, and empowering the poor.

Over 70,000 young people received joining letters from PM Modi today at the seventh Rozgar Mela. At 10:30 am, PM Modi accessed the program via video conferencing. It was organized in 44 locations across more than 20 states.
