Massive collapse due to cloudburst from Manali to Shimla, more than 50 people missing, NDRF personnel present on the spot

Himachal Cloudburst Updates: There was a cloudburst incident in Samej, Shimla district, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, late on Wednesday night. Where over fifty individuals are listed as missing. The missing persons’ search has begun.

Kullu, Manali, and Shimla have all seen horrific damage as a result of the cloudburst. Three locations have seen cloudbursts: the Manikaran Valley in Kullu, Mandi, and the Jhakri area of Rampur Bushahr, which is close to Shimla.

A cloudburst happened at Ganvi village in the 15/20 area at approximately 11 pm. There are no known fatalities at this location. However, reports have indicated that two or three houses, fields, gardens, school buildings, and other items have been damaged.

On behalf of the district administration, Shimla has arrived at this location. A group of medical professionals from Khaneri Hospital in Rampur departed for the area. SDM Rampur and additional officers have arrived at the Samej location. People in Samej are being evacuated from the ravine by NDRF personnel.

Situation worsens in Assam due to floods, more than 6 lakh people affected; Heavy rain warning issued

It specifies that all passenger vehicles—private and commercial—must drive at carefully regulated speeds and must have police and force personnel on duty every 30 minutes. Pilot cars will be positioned at Panbari and the Bagori border. They’ll work along with the forest staff and police in Nagaon.

Rain wreaks havoc in UP, 19 people dead so far, rain alert issued in 31 districts

Monsoon growing at a steady pace

People are waiting for the monsoon to bring relief from the heat. A scientist at IMD, R.K. Jenamani, reported that the monsoon made landfall on the Kerala coast on 29 May and reached the southern and central Arabian Seas, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu by 7 June.

Asked if the monsoon would reach Delhi-NCR and northwestern India by the expected date, Jenamani replied that it is too early to predict. The monsoon is expected to reach Maharashtra in the next two days, and it will engulf the entire Mumbai region in the days ahead.”

According to the IMD, the monsoon should arrive in Delhi on June 27, but it actually happened on July 13, a record for the longest delay in the past 19 years.
