Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, announced on Tuesday that the microblogging site will soon allow users to send tweets with up to 10,000 characters and basic formatting tools.

The standard character limit for tweets was originally 280 characters, and it still is for non-subscribers.
Twitter had previously stated that US Blue subscribers would have access to longer tweets on the platform, up to 4,000 characters.
